About Chogadiya

Chogadiya is an ancient Hindu Vedic Astrology time guide used to find auspicious (good) and inauspicious (bad) times of the day. It is widely used for starting travel, new ventures, or any important activity.

The 7 Types of Chogadiya & Their Meanings

Amrit (Best)

Moon
Benefic (Nectar)

Excellent for all types of work.

Shubh (Good)

Jupiter
Benefic

Especially good for marriage, ceremonies, and celebrations.

Labh (Gain)

Mercury
Benefic

Great for education, learning new skills, and starting business.

Char (Neutral)

Venus
Neutral/Benefic

Best for travel and movement-related activities.

Udveg (Bad)

Sun
Malefic (Anxiety)

Generally avoided, but can be good for government-related work.

Kaal (Loss)

Saturn
Malefic

Avoided for most good work, except wealth accumulation activities.

Rog (Evil)

Mars
Malefic

Avoided for good work. Recommended only for conflicts or defeating enemies.

🧮 Calculation Method

The time from Sunrise to Sunset is called 'Day Chogadiya' and Sunset to next Sunrise is 'Night Chogadiya'. Each period is divided into 8 equal parts.

⚠️ Important Rules

  • No auspicious work should be done during Vaar Vela, Kaal Vela, and Kaal Ratri.
  • If a good Chogadiya (like Amrit) overlaps with Rahu Kaal, Rahu Kaal takes precedence and the time should be avoided.
